On Friday 4th September 2015, the Clinical Excellence Commission Quality Use of Antimicrobials in Healthcare program hosted a symposium-style education and networking forum on the topic of antimicrobial stewardship. This event was attended by one hundred delegates, representing pharmacists, doctors, microbiologists, nurses and quality and safety professionals from both rural and regional areas. The vast majority of attendees were from public hospitals within NSW local health districts and networks, with other guests representing private and interstate health services.
The event was a great success with presentations about AMS initiatives from across New South Wales. The new 5 x 5 Antimicrobial Audit was also launched after successful piloting by 15 NSW facilities.
Copies of the presentations from the event have kindly been made available by the CEC.
